What a weird week.
I won’t call it “bad,” but it wasn’t necessarily good either.
It was, in a word, weird.
Of course, the main story of last week’s set of games was the wild Hail Mary that not only gave Washington the win, but cost us a confidence pick. I’m sure the Commanders don’t care as much we do, but between that game and the Giants failing to deliver on a two-point conversion, we just missed a few close picks.
I normally don’t go into detail about missing picks — it happens and it’s part of the process — but I do like to point out that we had the ball bounce against us in two key spots and stayed afloat.
As I wrote last week, that’s the goal around this time of year.
Below are predictions for each game against the spread. Spreads have been taken from various websites and are subject to change. The spread in parenthesis denotes the selected team. Spread is listed as advertised number and odds at either DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, Caesars Sportsbook, or Fanatics Sportsbook (formerly PointsBet). All efforts were made to provide picks at -110 or better, with some stretching to a -125 if no reasonable advertised spread was found.

Houston Texans at New York Jets
The week begins with a Thursday night matchup between the Houston Texans and New York Jets, and there is no doubt where the perception lies. It certainly wasn’t by design, but this game serving as the kickoff for the week is extremely poignant.
In looking through the list of matchups for Week 9, there is a common trend found in many of the games. That is,
