We’re now past the halfway point of the season, and we do need to reflect on how rocky it has been. Usually, by now, we have seen some peaks-and-valleys that can lead into the second-half of the year. That hasn’t been the case. It’s been small hills and abrupt cliffs.

As always, there is a bright side. Last week, there was a total of one division game. Division games tend to benefit us because we can see how the familiarity plays into the spread. It was likely an outlier of a week, albeit a bad one at that.

But there’s also the element of the confidence picks. They have remained slightly more stable than the rest, and that’s a good sign that, if we aren’t getting the full swatch of games to go our way, we still have the ability to read certain matchups.

As long as we can continue down the same paths we have always taken, we should find some more success along the way.

Below are predictions for each game against the spread. Spreads have been taken from various websites and are subject to change. The spread in parenthesis denotes the selected team. Spread is listed as advertised number and odds at either DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, Caesars Sportsbook, or PointsBet. All efforts were made to provide picks at -110 or better, with some stretching to a -125 if no reasonable advertised spread was found.

Carolina Panthers at Chicago Bears

I’ve waited as long as possible to see who would be named as the Chicago Bears’ starting quarterback for Thursday night’s game against the Carolina Panthers, but I need to keep asking myself if it’s worth the struggle. Does it matter if it’s Justin Fields or Tyson Bagent under center?

It doesn’t seem like it’s
