We continue to see the same oddities appear on a weekly basis, but there might not be anything like Week 15 for a long time. It featured the largest comeback in history, one of the biggest bonehead plays in years, and a few teams keeping their slim playoff hopes alive.

While the first two items on that list are entertaining, the real value comes from the third. We still have three weeks left and, while many playoff slots can be approximated, there are a few that feel tumultuous — as well as hunted by teams that have suddenly come to life.

If we have learned anything this year, it’s that nothing is truly over until we officially reach the end.

An unprecedented schedule for Week 16 begins with an unprecedented matchup. Two of the worst franchises over the past decade will square off and, with three weeks left in the season, both are actually fighting for playoff spots.

The holiday season has certainly brought some gifts.

It has also brought about two second-year quarterbacks heading in completely different directions and a sports media that has not let anyone forget about the disparity. In the last week alone, we heard, again, about the impressive development of Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the complete disaster of New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson. Taken first and second overall in the same draft, respectively, they now meet in a head-to-head battle on national television.

This remains an ideal setup for the aforementioned sports media. But these are the same minds that completely missed
