There’s 267 laps for this race, so lots of dominator points to go around. Rain is in the forecast however, but I would expect to get atleast ¾ of the race in, if not the whole thing. I would build lineups around 20-3 guys that are going to lead laps, and then find some value guys who can pick up some good PD points.
For cash, I think the place most people will start (including myself) is with Kyle Busch ($10,100) who is starting on the pole, and Michael McDowell ($5700) who is starting 30th and gives you salary relief. Another driver many people will be higher on is Cole Custer ($6900) and for good reason. He finished 5th last time out and since the restart he’s shown much more speed. The last guy I will recommend for cash is Denny Hamlin ($10,900). He gets the highest PD potential of the guys I believe will lead laps today, and he has 4 wins already this season, and a tire issue took away a 5th last weekend. This leaves you with $8200 each for your last 2 spots.
For gpp, there’s so many ways to go. Guys like Brad Keselowski ($9000) and Martin Truex Jr. ($9200) make for some intriguing gpp plays because of their price point. Brad has won here 3 times and his team are all about differing pit strategies to get him track position when his car isn’t good enough to get it. Truex Jr. has won twice here and has been incredibly unlucky for parts of this season with different issues and he’s also going to the back to start the race, lowering his ownership even more in my opinion. Another guy I like a ton is Christopher Bell ($11,200) who’s starting 34th and has a ton of PD potential. The last 4 guys I like are, Ryan Blaney ($9800), Jimmie Johnson ($8800), William Byron ($8600), and Chase Elliott ($10,500). Jones has let people down so many times this season and while I don’t mind playing him, I think I’ll just pivot to Jimmie or Byron. Blaney really has been very good this season and Chase Elliott has arguably been the best at 1.5 tracks this season.
Just a quick recap and then the value plays I like.
