Overview

147 laps, normally tough to pass but in the cup race we saw it was quite easy because there was no practice for anyone, making the racing tighter and more back and forth. Likely looking for one dominator. If you don’t play Kyle Busch in cash, just give me your money instead.

All prices are DraftKings

Top Tier: Over $9500

1.Kyle Busch $16000 (Starting 26th): Kyle is the only Cup driver in the field, has the place differential points that he wouldn’t normally have running an Xfinity race and is by far the best driver in the field. He’s averaged 35 fastest laps per race in xfinity at Darlington (last race was 2015) and has led laps in all but one race. While it takes a lot to pay off a $16,000 salary, he’s going to be chalk and is absolutely needed in cash. If you want to take a chance in GPP if you’re playing multiple lines and fade him and hope he crashes, sure, but I wouldn’t wager much on that.

2.Chase Briscoe $10800 (Starting 11th): Now obviously if you play Busch, you’re not going to have room for Briscoe. If you feel the need to fade Busch in a GPP line, Chase is the guy I would spend up on. He’s got a good history at Darlington, and Phoenix (Similar track)

Mid-High Tier: $8000-$9500 (My favorite tier)

1.Jeffrey Earnhardt $8300 (Starting 34th): Starting 34th, the only way for Jeffrey to go is up. The car he is in isn’t awful and he gives you a decent place differential potential to go along with Kyle. If Jeffrey finished in 23rd, he’ll get 33 dk points. While this doesn’t seem like a lot, with less laps in xfinity, this is perfectly fine. Again, he’s going to be higher owned with his starting position

2a. Noah Gragson $8700 (Starting 1st): I said to fade the pole sitter in the cup race on Sunday because of the unknown of the cars with no practice, however, here I think its okay to play noah since he will likely be chalk in cash anyways. It’s tough to play anything decent with Kyle being $16000 but I think gragson may be able to lead enough laps to be able to withstand losing a few positions during the race. Pole sitters have done well in recent years in Xfinity at Darlington and I think that trend may continue.

2b. Daniel Hemric $9100 (Starting 23rd): Hemric has had a horrible start to the season, but that changes here. He’s got a few cars ahead of him which are way worse than his car and he’s got enough talent to finish anywhere from 8th to 15th I believe. He’s got a career average finish here of 14.5 but has an average running position of 9th. He’s not likely to lead laps or get fastest laps (3 in 2 races) but I think he comes back from this break ready to go.

3.Ross Chastain $9400 (Starting 9th): Ross is super aggressive, which is why I have him as a GPP play. The last time he raced here in xfinity was the race Harvick ripped him a new one for “driving in equipment too good for him” where ross led 90 laps then crashed himself and Harvick out of the race. I really like the looks of running a Kyle + Ross start in GPP, because where ross is priced it should lower his ownership. Even in not great equipment he pulled out a top 10 a few seasons ago.

FADE: Brett Moffit $8900 (Starting 22nd): This is a play that feels higher owned. but I’d rather fade it. He’s not had a great season so far and I don’t think that changes here. New team, 2 months off, if I lose because I faded him, so be it.

Mid-Low Tier: $6500-$7900

1.Jeremy Clements $7100 (Starting 30th): Absolutely AWFUL start to the season for this driver, which gives him the bad starting position. The one race he’s not had damage or blown up, he finished 9th. Average finish here of 18, I’m playing him in cash and more than likely some GPPs as well.

2.Anthony Alfredo $6600 (Starting 17th): This is definitely a GPP play, but this 21 car he’s driving has been quite good this season. It’s been on the pole twice this season already and in the only race Anthony drove he finished 5th. He’s probably the least experienced driver in the field but is an avid iRacer. Does he have a chance to win this race? I’d say no, but I do think he’s got a shot at a top 10.

Bonus: I love to play tommy joe martins simply because of his interaction with fans on twitter and he’s running his own team and doing a damn good job doing it. He’s 6700 and I’ll have a share simply because I’m a huge fan of his.

Low Tier: Under $6500

1.Collin Garrett $5200 (Starting 39th): The last time this car ran he finished 21st at homestead. A team with very few races in xfinity, but seems to have a decent car so I’m more than willing to play him. I want to get him in my cash lineup, but it remains to be seen if I will be able to.

2.Ronnie Bassett Jr. $5800 (Starting 32nd): I really like Ronnie as a GPP play here in the 36 car. It finished 22nd at phoenix and I think it has the potential for the same with Ronnie driving. It will be interesting to see what happens, but playing guys down in this range is like roulette anyways.
