Another week has come and gone which leaves us with a Free Line Up Friday here on Sporfolio. After a huge sweep of the Mets the Yankees are sitting pretty headed up to Fenway for massive series. It’s a full slate of games with an afternoon start at Wrigley so get those line ups in.
Low-Scoring Plays
Oakland Athletics @ Houston Astros-Keuchel takes the mound for the Astros who is 10-2 on the year. Keuchel has been open that he is pissed the Astros didn’t make a move at the deadline. Getting Verlander still isn’t out of the question however I am not a fan of Keuchel bashing the front office like he has been. Regardless the Athletics aren’t a good team and Keuchel can use the frustration for extra velocity onto his fastball. Astros win this game big.
Targets: Keuchel, Altuve
Washington Nationals @ San Diago Padres- This game is almost too good to be true. Max Scherzer vs. the Padres, is a lock in your line up. Recently with Scherzer and Sale I have been looking else where as their price is too high. However in this game it’s too good to be true. Scherzer will dominate like we haven’t seen yet this season. He should be the center piece of your line up and the rest should be built around him.
Targets: Scherzer, Murphy
Cleveland Indians @ Kansas City Royals- Corey Kluber gets the call for the Indians. Since coming back from injury Kluber has been one of the best pitchers in the league. He will be the only one that can challenge Sale for the Cy Young Award this year. The Royals have been playing great these past couple of months however this is a game that is shaping up well for the Indians.
Targets: Kluber, Lindor
High-Scoring Plays
L.A. Dodgers @ Detroit Tigers- Jordan Zimmermann gets the call for the Tigers who has an ERA above 5. We know what the Dodgers can do and they should win this game easily. Bellinger has been red hot over the last week as he is hitting .478 over the last week with 2 home runs. Justin Turner has to be in the MVP talks this year, as he is hitting .345 having a terrific season.
Targets: Bellinger, Turner
Miami Marlins @ New York Mets- Giancarlo didn’t homer in his last game so you have to think he is due for one in this game. Chris Flexen is on the mound who is a young arm in the Mets rotation. He isn’t that great of a pitcher but you can’t blame him jumping from AA right to the Majors. The Mets were beat up by the Yankees over the last week, and their season is over. The Marlins still have some life and have been playing well.
Targets: Stanton
