Question of the day: Are the Yankees legit? Or are the Orioles not who we thought they were? I’m siding with the Yankees and I think they are officially back.  Their young talent is incredible and they still have even more players in the farm system that have potential.  If the Yankees wanted to they could trade some of the talent in their farm system for a big arm, maybe Bumgarner or Cueto, and really take a run at the World Series this year.  They better make sure it is an elite pitcher they get though and not an iffy pitcher like Harvey or Arrieta this year.  Regardless the Yankees are mashing the ball and it is just impressive.  Judge made me eat my words yesterday as I said he couldn’t put up Byrce Harper numbers then turns around and has a 44 point day.  If you hate the Yankees I’m sorry but the dynasty is back.

We only have a couple of games today so it should be easy to put a line up together.

Low-Scoring Plays

Chicago Cubs @ New York Mets- This looks to be the pitching match up of the day as the Cubs head into Citi Field.  Both of these teams have been streaky this year which makes me like it to go low scoring.  Strasburg is pitching for the Nationals and will be highly owned.  deGrom could be a better pick as his numbers will be close, not as good but close.  However deGrom should be less owned which will allow you to gain positions in the standings over everyone else.   Cespedes makes his return to Citi Field and will be the difference in this one.

Targets:deGrom, Cespedes

Texas Rangers @ Houston Astros-Battle of the Lone Star State as the Rangers disappointing season continues just as the Astros continue their tear.  Due to the depletion of Rangers line up and being on the road they will not be able to manufacture runs.  However Yu Darvish takes the mound for the Rangers who should be able to keep the Astros in check.  Darvish will be a sneaky pick today as everyone will stay away because of the Astros.

Targets: Darvish

High Scoring Plays

Colorado Rockies @ Pittsburg Pirates- Jameson Tallion takes the mound for the Pirates as he returns from Testicular Cancer surgery.  It is great that he is back and healthy however he is going to face a very difficult team in the Colorado Rockies.  The Rockies have 4 batters hitting over .300, with Reynolds and Blackmon having 17 and 15 home runs respectively.  Tallion is a good pitcher however I think everything will be too much for him and the Rockies will run this game up.

Targets: Blackmon, Amarista

New York Yankees @ L.A. Angels- This should be the high scoring game of the day.  The Yankees are red hot, stack as many Yankee batters as you can in your line up.  Judge and Sanchez are both expensive so you will probably have to choose between one or the other. I’m going to side with Sanchez today as he has the higher batting average vs RHP. Judge has more home runs vs. RHP but not every hit is going to be a home run.  If you can afford both take them but if you have to take one of the other side with Sanchez.

Targets: Gardner, Sanchez, Judge

Extra Innings

Due to the lack of games I don’t see anyone as under valued. Instead of giving you random outfields to plug into your line up on days like today, I’ll leave you with a extra play and the reasoning I did or didn’t do something.  I didn’t write about the Nationals because we know the story with Strasburg, he will be expensive he will put up numbers.  If you can afford him take him but you can take a pitcher like Freeland instead.  Freeland should have a big day against the Pirates as they are terrible offensively.  The money you save on this play will make taking Judge and Sanchez seem more plausible.
