Despite the added games to the schedule compared to recent weeks, there are a handful of matchups that don’t necessarily provide value. That doesn’t mean that they are worth avoiding in one direction or another, but simply that the chalk outcomes — either for picks or DFS — might be so popular that there isn’t an edge to be found. Oddly enough, we actually have some contradiction and overlap in our collective group for Week 8.
A Note from Mario: We finally saw some regression — 1-2 — after an outstanding run of picks that went 10-2 over the prior few weeks. I will continue to provide them as I see fit, but please do your research and play responsibly.
In the world of daily fantasy roster construction, ‘stacking’ players from the same team can often lead to big results. In this column of games to target in Week 8, Luke and Mario will give their thoughts on a few games that are worth watching for fantasy purposes, and whether they like the value or feel the game is getting too much attention.

Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons
People are very down on the Carolina Panthers right now, and it is hard to blame them. During their four game losing streak, which coincides with the absence of Christian McCaffrey, they have averaged 19.25 points per game and 281.25 yards per game. Those numbers simply aren’t going to cut it, and it culminated in the benching of Sam Darnold last week in their worst game of the season. That type of move, followed up by reassurance from the head coach that Darnold is still the guy, is something that could serve as a turning point for the young Darnold. He has the added advantage of facing off with a Falcons defense that has struggled to stop the run and the pass which has led to them ranking 30th in the league in points allowed. On the flip side, The Falcons offense is hitting their stride, and is hard to stop given the wide array of talents they possess. From Calvin Ridley, Kyle Pitts, Cordarelle Patterson and Mike Davis, they are hard to match up with because they can beat you in a number of ways. The Panthers defense has good stats, but they have played a number of poor offenses this year. In their two games against high-end offenses — Cowboys and Vikings — they allowed 70 points and over 1,000 yards offense.
