We’re starting to see some numbers trying to adjust to what has taken place over the first two weeks of the season, but the reality is that perception from last year is still partially driving the boat. Of course, that’s where we want to look to find an edge.
A Note from Mario: These picks went 2-2 last week, and I actually had to limit myself for Week 3. There are a decent amount of games with misaligned over-under point totals, either for one team or an overall matchup. I will continue to provide them as I see fit, but please do your research and play responsibly.
In the world of daily fantasy roster construction, ‘stacking’ players from the same team can often lead to big results. In this column of games to target in Week 3, Luke and Mario will give their thoughts on a few games that are worth watching for fantasy purposes, and whether they like the value or feel the game is getting too much attention.

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs
Sometimes I try to be creative and unique, but other times, the setup of a game is simply too appealing and obvious to ignore. To some people, the Chargers may not be an obviously appealing team because through two games they have managed to score only 20 and 17 points. That is hardly the mark of a great offense, but it also paints a completely imperfect picture of their season so far. While they may rank 27th in the league in points for, their offense has accumulated the 5th most yards in the entire league. Point totals can be extremely fickle week to week based on some good or bad luck and a couple of random bounces. Yards on the other hand, and a much more reliable indicator of how good an offense is. The Chargers have racked up over 400 yards of offense in both of their games, so the points should catch up to their yardage eventually. Playing the Chiefs sets up as the perfect opportunity for that regression to occur. We can just about guarantee the Chiefs’ offense is going to produce every single week which puts added pressure on the opposing offense, and the Chargers’ offense quietly has a very good matchup. The Chiefs’ defense has allowed more yards through two weeks than any other defense in the league to go along with allowing the fifth-most points in the league. The other appealing nature of this game is that both offenses rely on a few key contributors, so creating a good game stack with this matchup should be pretty easy to identify which players will play a role in what could be the highest-scoring game of the week.
