Based on our expected Week 9 DFS game flow analysis and Week 9 DFS Overview published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 9 Plays:
Quarterback
Kyler Murray – No one should be surprised to see Kyler Murray’s name on this list. Not only has he been playing well this season, but we have turned to him a few times throughout the year. This week is especially unique because he will face a Bears defense that has been extraordinary in limiting points — fourth-fewest points-per-game allowed in the league. But Murray’s floor is so strong because of his rushing ability that we don’t necessarily need the Arizona Cardinals to light up the scoreboard for the quarterback to be worth a roster spot. That type of upside helps, though.
Bryce Young – Help us. Please. The Carolina Panthers are turning back to Bryce Young by choice this week and, with a heavy sigh, we are doing the same. Make no mistake about it, the expectations for Young are as low as they could possibly go. But, so is his salary, and that’s the point. We plan to target high-impact players throughout our lineup this week, and they all happen to have inflated salaries. We need relief somewhere, and Young provides it. In terms of actual on-field production, however, Young and the Carolina Panthers are facing an uphill battle and will almost certainly need to throw constantly to keep pace. The volume and salary make for an ideal combination where any uptick in actual production would be a metaphorical home run.
