Based on our expected Week 18 DFS game flow analysis and Week 18 DFS Overview published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 18 Plays:
Quarterback
Joshua Dobbs/Carson Wentz – One quick glance at the two quarterback options we listed in this article should say everything about what we can expect in Week 18. That is, we are in the most unique slate of games on the year where, despite a large number of options available to us, we are really trying to hone in on the players we can expect to see on the field for the duration of the game. Notice how that doesn’t even mean teams that “need to win” in order to make it to the postseason. It is simply a matter of volume in a week where not much is guaranteed. We originally planned to split up Joshua Dobbs and Carson Wentz into their own respective blurbs like usual, but they essentially serve the same purpose on Sunday. With their teams’ starting quarterbacks already expected to miss this week’s game, these two slide into that role. More importantly, Dobbs and Wentz do so with incredibly low salaries — especially Dobbs, who is at the lowest possible point for a quarterback. The irony is that we aren’t even necessarily looking for savings here to be able to afford higher salaries later. It’s simply a matter of outstanding value for the expected volume during this unpredictable weekend.
