Based on our expected Week 12 DFS game flow analysis and Week 12 DFS Overview published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 12 Plays:
Quarterback
Anthony Richardson – Every part of Anthony Richardson’s game has been up-and-down throughout the year, and we can see that in the wild disconnect between his salary and fantasy points on a given week. Through the first two weeks of the season, Richardson was delivering impressive fantasy performances, and his salary raised quickly. Between a combination of injuries and poor play, he dropped to an unusable level. His salary plummeted. Last week was the first time Richardson reminded fantasy managers what he could do — especially with his legs as he tallied two rushing touchdowns — but his salary has not yet spiked. That will change with another big performance, and we’d rather be on the early side of it than too late.
Tua Tagovailoa – This admittedly borders on the territory of being so obvious that it might fail, but the salary for Tua Tagovailoa in his given matchup and the path he has taken over the past few weeks is the perfect storm. We have to make this play. Tagovailoa just threw for a season-high three touchdown passes and turned in his second-best performance of the year in terms of passing yards, and he will now face a Patriots defense that ranks ninth-worst in net-yards-per-pass-attempt. Perhaps most importantly, the Miami Dolphins have now won back-to-back games and have an outside chance of making a run for a playoff spot. Is it likely? No. But the Dolphins have gotten hot in the past, and it usually starts with Tagovailoa.
