Because of the order in which we put together these columns, we generally have a good idea how our builds will go when we finally sit down and make our rosters. For Week 3, we found it necessary to pay a premium at the wide receiver position. The good news is that there are plenty of inexpensive options — including at running back — to offset the high salaries of other players we automatically added to our lineups.
Based on our expected Week 3 DFS game flow analysis and Week 3 DFS Overview published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 3 Plays:
Quarterback
Kirk Cousins – Kirk Cousins is no stranger to this article. He simply compiles numbers, and he generally has an uptick in production when playing at home in the early slate of games. His matchup with the Chargers looks like it might be one of the highest-scoring slugfests of the weekend but, even if it fails to reach its hyped level, Cousins should still perform well enough to warrant a spot in a fantasy lineup.
Justin Fields – There is no denying that Justin Fields’ rushing ability helps carry his fantasy football value, but this weekend’s matchup with the Chiefs might force him out of his comfort zone. We’ll gladly welcome that. If Kansas City does what many expect and scores often against the Bears, it will push Fields to step up in order to keep his team in the game. Otherwise, Chicago is likely keeping the score close because Fields was able to get back to his successful running ways. Normally, we point out that Fields has had a horrific record as the Bears’ starting quarterback, but this is a situation where trailing for the entirety of the game is probably helpful to his fantasy output.
