While we certainly have some expensive salaries, we aren’t necessarily using the same ‘stars-and-scrubs’ approach as in recent weeks. Instead, there is some nice balance to the core of the group of players we list in this article.
Based on our expected Week 17 DFS game flow analysis and Week 17 DFS Overview published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 17 Plays:
Quarterback
Brock Purdy – Say what you will about Brock Purdy and his standings in the NFL MVP race, but the man has been one of the top quarterbacks in fantasy football all season long. Last week, Purdy hit rock bottom against the best defense in the league, and suddenly people are acting like the sky is falling for the 49ers. A matchup with one of the worst teams, and defenses, in the league in Washington is an ideal spot for the elite 49ers offense to get things back on track. Expect Head Coach, Kyle Shanahan to do everything he can this week to get his quarterback’s confidence trending back in the right direction this week as Purdy’s play will be critical to the 49ers making the postseason run that they are expecting to go on.
Tyrod Taylor – The New York Giants are moving back to Tyrod Taylor at quarterback and, just like we saw in last week’s loss the Eagles, it should give the offense a boost. Is “a boost” enough? Normally, we would need more than that, but Taylor’s salary is so low that he is arguably the smallest risk on the entire slate. We’ve also seen New York’s offense lull fantasy managers to sleep throughout the year, so the entire group will be undervalued. Anything Taylor brings to the table would be a positive for a team with the second-fewest points scored in the league, and it means we can build our lineup around the same upside.
