Anyone who reads this column will immediately see that we did not hesitate to pay a premium for some of the biggest names. It’s a ‘stars-and-scrubs’ group of players, and we have no qualms about it.
Based on our expected Week 13 DFS game flow analysis and Week 13 DFS Overview published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 13 Plays:
Quarterback
Jalen Hurts – It shouldn’t take much convincing to plug Jalen Hurts into your lineup any given week, so we will keep this simple. Excluding Week 1, Hurts has scored at least 19.9 fantasy points in every single game of the season with a season-high 36.5 last week against the Bills. The 49ers defense is hardly a great matchup, but the matchup has not mattered all season, so we are not overthinking it this week. The 49ers offense has been borderline unstoppable all season when playing at full strength, and given the struggles of the Eagles secondary, there is no reason to think that San Francisco won’t be scoring plenty of points this week. No matter how ugly it may be at times, Hurts and the Eagles have always find a way to be in games at the very end, and almost always find a way to win, so logic tells us they’ll be scoring plenty of points of their own. Given Hurts is a near lock for a rushing touchdown each week, he has arguably the highest floor and ceiling of any quarterback on a weekly basis, and this week is no difference.
Brock Purdy – It’s arguably the spotlight game of the weekend, but the bulk of the attention for the offense in the game between the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles is likely to go Philadelphia. Not so fast. 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy had back-to-back three-touchdown games before logging just one last week — in a win, though. San Francisco’s offense will not be intimidated by Philadelphia’s defense, and Purdy is an excellent, under-the-radar play will he will even be overshadowed in his own game, let alone compared to other quarterbacks of the weekend.
