Over the past few weeks, we have written plenty about the impact on news for a given DFS slate. Week 12 is no different. There are, again, multiple stories to follow regarding the health and status of players, but it allows us to target less expensive options that should be pushed into a new role. Overall, that has helped make this one of the easier weeks for which we can create lineups.

Based on our expected Week 12 DFS game flow analysis and Week 12 DFS Overview published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.

Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 12 Plays:

Quarterback

Derek Carr – Because of the Las Vegas Raiders’ pitiful 3-7 record, quarterback Derek Carr appears to be overlooked yet again. This is nothing new for Carr, and it’s one of the main reasons why he and the Raiders were great ‘sleepers’ entering last season. This year, the team-wide regression has struck, but Carr is continuing to put up numbers. Those numbers should only improve against a Seattle Seahawks defense that ranks seventh-worst in yards-per-game. Seattle also scores the fifth-most points-per-game, which should put pressure on Carr and the Raiders to continue delivering when they have the ball. Carr is up to the challenge.

Kyle Allen – It is no secret that Kyle Allen isn’t going to be the long term solution at quarterback for the Houston Texans, but it is also safe to say that his presence in the lineup probably raises the offenses fantasy outlook. You can take a lot of information away from his previous game experience, but Allen’s presence in the lineup is sure to bring a philosophical change to the quarterback position. Davis Mills has been busy trying to avoid mistakes and play safe to show he can be a responsible starting quarterback moving forward. Kyle Allen is a career backup to this point, and has nothing to lose, so it is probably safe to expect him to go and play much more freely than what we have seen from Mills. That is all good and well, but Allen also have just about the ideal game script and matchup combination to go along with as cheap a salary as you can ask for from a quarterback. His defense is very unlikely to be slowing down the Dolphins, so he should be in a pass heavy game script throughout this one against a defense that ranks 22nd in net yards allowed per pass attempt, 22nd in passing yards allowed per game and 31st in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks.
