As we’ve written throughout the prior articles of the week, there may not be fantasy value everywhere, but the plays we like are truly plays we love. Whether it’s due to pricing or a matchup we expect to go overlooked, Week 4’s DFS plays basically picked themselves for us.
Based on our expected Week 4 DFS game flow analysis and Week 4 Games to Target published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 4 Plays:
Quarterback
Teddy Bridgewater – One of the most intriguing matchups of the weekend highlights the second-best defense hosting the fourth-best offense — both in yards-per-game. However, that side of the ball is not where we will be focusing our attention. Teddy Bridgewater and the Denver Broncos’ offense actually have a positive matchup against a Baltimore Ravens defense that is pitiful against the pass — third-most passing yards allowed. Between the matchup and the focus of many people resting on the Broncos’ defense and Ravens’ offense, we have the perfect opportunity to sneak Bridgewater into a lineup at a reasonable price. If Baltimore does break through against Denver, that only increases the volume for Bridgewater.
Zach Wilson – We have been brutal about Zach Wilson and the Jets in the early stages of this season, but there is finally a setup that will allow the rookie a chance to be successful. Through three weeks, the Jets played three teams that stand a good chance to finish among the top-ten defenses in the league, and it was clearly too much for them. This week, they get to take aim at a Titans defense that has shown many holes this year — particularly against the pass in which they rank 25th in the league in net yards per attempt. The Titans’ defense has only forced one turnover all season and they have recorded just seven sacks. Wilson gets a chance to face off with a defense in which he may actually have time to make decisions and the ability to find open receivers. This is an opportunity for Wilson to flash some of the talents that led him to being the second overall pick in this year’s NFL draft.
Sam Darnold – The Carolina Panthers and their offense will probably be a focal point of the early afternoon games as they will be missing their biggest weapon when facing the Dallas Cowboys. The loss of running back Christian McCaffrey puts pressure on quarterback Sam Darnold to take on a bigger role, but we are buying into Darnold delivering. Most importantly, we remain unconvinced that the Cowboys’ defense has turned a corner, where it’s extremely likely that much of it’s success has come from the matchups — and simply an abnormal amount of turnovers. If, however, Dallas is up to the challenge of giving the Panthers their first loss, then Darnold will probably be throwing all game, where his volume numbers will carry him anyway.
