As we move through a week’s set of articles, we try to plan ahead how our lineups will come together using the information we have seen and written. It doesn’t always jive — mainly, because of pricing — with final builds. Thankfully, this isn’t the case in Week 14. Granted, some players are so expensive that we have to make decisions on how to fit them into a lineup, but the main takeaway is that the overall set of players we wanted to use fit together nicely.
Based on our expected Week 14 DFS game flow analysis and Week 14 Games to Target published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 14 Plays:
Quarterback
Josh Allen – All week, and in every article that we have published, we mentioned how the Buffalo Bills will face a defense that stops the run with ease. We have also mentioned that the Bills just played a game in which the wind made it nearly impossible to throw the ball. Putting these two pieces of the puzzle together, it should not be surprising at all to see Josh Allen top our list of quarterback targets for the weekend. As if the transition from his last game to Sunday’s were not enough on its own, we also get the added benefit of the overall matchup probably forcing Allen to throw in what-could-be one of the highest-scoring games of the weekend. Even if Buffalo isn’t trailing, it likely isn’t pulling off the road ‘upset’ without contributions from its quarterback.
Taylor Heinicke – Taylor Heinicke is hardly a superstar, but you have to admire him for his path to the NFL and the way he has managed to keep the Washington Football Team relevant over the past two seasons. This year, Heinicke’s numbers are largely mediocre across the board, but he is averaging a very respectful 17.6 fantasy points. Washington’s offense hasn’t been dominant during their current four-game win streak, but they are going to have to be this week if they hope to make it 5 wins in a row. The Cowboys offense is primed for a bug game against this Washington defense, so we are totally counting on their offense to keep them in this game, and we like those odds against a Cowboys defense that still ranks 27th in the league in total yards allowed. Head Coach Ron Rivera is rallying his team around the underdog nature of this matchup following Mike McCarthy’s “guarantee,” and there may be no player in the league that embodies the underdog more than Heinicke, so look for him to far exceed his value this week.
