As we wrote about in our prior Games to Target column, the numbers are starting to align with expectations. We are in Week 11, after all. There are values to be had, of course, but they make building a lineup a little more difficult. Thankfully, it’s still possible to devote the resources in the right areas and come out with a solid build.
Based on our expected Week 11 DFS game flow analysis and Week 11 Games to Target published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 11 Plays:
Quarterback
Josh Allen – It is never hard to point out playing the most expensive player at their position, but Josh Allen boasts arguably the highest floor and ceiling of any quarterback in the league. We know about his ability to get yards and scores with his legs, while also leading one of the highest scoring offenses in the league, but sometimes, it seems as if the Bills’ defense limits his upside. We are not expecting that to be the case this week. The Colts are primed to put up a big game of their own which should force the Bills’ offense to keep their foot on the pedal all game long. That bodes well for Allen against a Colts defense that ranks 24th in the league in net yards allowed per pass attempt.
Patrick Mahomes – Every time that we write about Patrick Mahomes as one of our targets for a given week, we essentially say the same thing. That is, the case for arguably the best quarterback in the league writes itself. Mahomes always carries a tremendously high ceiling, and he actually has a salary that presents slight savings over a few other quarterbacks. Perhaps this is because the Dallas Cowboys’ defense may scare people away, but it shouldn’t. Dallas has been outstanding at creating turnovers, but it still ranks 22nd in net-yards-per-pass-attempt. Mahomes is always a threat to explode, but the best part of his value on Sunday comes from the stable floor.
Lamar Jackson – Lamar Jackson had been one of our main targets all week, but the news about his illness suggested he was questionable for Sunday’s game. He was eventually removed from the injury report and then added back on with the same problem. He is now being considered a true “game-time decision,” but we should have definitive news on him before the early games start. This lack of concrete information is probably going to push people away from him, and that could give us a nice edge. Of course, there’s risk that his illness limits what he can do on the field, but Jackson is definitely worth a flier — even at his salary — if we find out that he will start.
