In any sport, crafting a DFS lineup requires targeting savings somewhere and making sure that you can use those savings appropriately. In Week 10, we have immediate discounts that allow for us to pay up almost everywhere else. Normally, that leads to a ‘Stars-and-Scrubs’ approach. Not this time. Here, it’s simply a matter of ‘Premiums-and-Discounts’ where the actual potential of the players — and lineups — do not suffer.
Based on our expected Week 10 DFS game flow analysis and Week 10 Games to Target published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 10 Plays:
Quarterback
Russell Wilson – Our love for Russell Wilson knows no bounds, and after being deprived of his play-making abilities for a few weeks, how can we not endorse him here this week? For a few years now, the Seahawks have been a team that is built to go only as far as their star quarterback can take them. The drop off without him was evident, despite their blowout victory against the Jaguars in the last game, but with Wilson back under center this week, our expectations are sky-high. There is some valid concern about his recovering finger on his throwing hand, but the Seahawks wouldn’t be putting him on the field if he were not ready to be a difference maker. The slight hesitation around his health has caused his salary to be at a season low and the over-under of this game to be surprisingly low. We will happily take the opportunity to buy low on one of the best quarterbacks in the entire NFL.
Carson Wentz – It may seem odd to write this given the large number of turnovers he’s committed in the past few years, but Carson Wentz actually has one of the highest floors on Sunday. He has thrown multiple touchdown passes in each of his last six games, and he hasn’t disappeared even in matchups that appear like they may be one-sided — where his team can secure a lead early and run late. He’s simply one of the better plays of the weekend for his low price.
Teddy Bridgewater – The Denver Broncos had one of the most impressive, eye-opening wins of Week 9 but, as much as people were impressed by the ‘upset’ victory, there is a growing commentary that the team will now revert back to losing. Maybe. We certainly can’t rule out the possibility, especially as we have been down on the Broncos since the start of the season. Still, the low expectations have trickled into the DFS world, where quarterback Teddy Bridgewater’s price has remained low. Bridgewater isn’t known to light up the scoreboard, but he has thrown a passing touchdown in every game this year and reached at least 210 passing yards seven-out-of-nine times. He will be playing at home against a Philadelphia Eagles defense that has allowed at least 295 passing yards in three-of-its-last-four games. Bridgewater’s ceiling is harder to reach than most, but his floor is extremely stable.
