As we have written throughout the week, the ‘overreaction’ from Opening Day has given us a few games to target for all of our needs – from picks to fantasy. In this case, we actually find ourselves continually leaning on the same games for players, whether in the form of stacks or a single roster spot that needs to be filled.

Based on our expected Week 2 DFS game flow analysis and Week 2 Games to Target published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.

Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 2 Plays:

Quarterback

Russell Wilson – One of the most important things in fantasy football is volume. Despite our love for Wilson, the Seahawks are typically a low-volume passing offense. This week, however, we are expecting a big performance from the Steelers, which could force the Seahawks’ hand. There are few quarterbacks who are as efficient with the passes, so extra volume this week could lead to a big day for Russell Wilson as he fights to keep his team in it against a Steelers defense that showed last week it is a work in progress.

Kyler Murray – At the risk of sounding too sales-y, we have to direct your attention to something Mario wrote in the Games to Target column reserved for subscribers. It is a rather long list of reasons why the Cardinals have outstanding value on Sunday, and it starts with Kyler Murray – remember, we have a three-day free trial you can use and then cancel if you’re unhappy with the content. Regardless, Murray will be in some of our lineups.

Derek Carr – Carr is another example of a game-script based play. His presence in our lineups is largely due to the fact that the Chiefs’ offense should score at will against his defense. Because of this likely result, the ball should be in Carr’s hands quite often. He was effective last week against a Broncos defense that has much more talent than this Chiefs unit. The matchup and game script set up perfectly for Carr and his fellow Raiders who can all be had for nice prices.
