Just like last week, the amount of high salaries for viable options forces our hand to dive deep into the bargain bin. Thankfully, we have enough inexpensive targets to make almost any lineup work.
Based on our expected Week 16 DFS game flow analysis and Week 16 Games to Target published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 16 Plays:
Quarterback
Kyler Murray – We continue to go back to Kyler Murray week-after-week because of his potential for a reasonable price on a given week. The Arizona Cardinals have not only committed to Murray – they allow him to use his legs to make plays – but they are also often in a position where they need to throw. This should be the case, again, on Sunday against the Seahawks. The other alternative is that the Cardinals lead in the game because of Murray. Either way, his volume is rarely low, but his price is. Compared to his upside, anyway.
Will Grier – Will Grier was probably never expected to make a start this season, but with Cam Newton’s injury, Kyle Allen’s struggles, Ron Rivera’s firing and the current six game losing streak the Panthers are riding, interim coach Perry Fewell is giving his rookie quarterback a chance. This game has absolutely no playoff implications, and with that, there is no reason to shelter Grier or run a passive offense. Both Newell and Grier have a chance to try and establish themselves, and a matchup against a vulnerable Colts defense – a team that also has nothing to play for – is a great chance to make a good impression. The Colts are allowing just a shade under 250 yards per game through the air which ranks them 21st in the league. There is obviously risk here, but for his minuscule price tag, it is a risk worth taking on the Panthers third round draft pick.
