One of the conversations we have had in preparation for this column is that the main slate of games is not particularly exciting for fantasy purposes. What makes it worse is that salaries are not forgiving. Few players are exceptionally high priced – which is, of course, a good thing – but almost everyone else that is worth considering is just a little too expensive for our liking.
Based on our expected Week 12 DFS game flow analysis and Week 12 Games to Target published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 12 Plays:
Quarterback
Russell Wilson – Russell Wilson could easily be on this list every single week – most weeks he is – so there should be no surprise to see him here once again. Every single statistic you could look at proves that Wilson is having a dominant year, but what is truly remarkable about his season is that his production comes with far less workload than most other quarterbacks. The MVP candidate has only exceeded 40 pass attempts in three games this season, and while that isn’t necessarily appealing, he hasn’t needed more work to be consistently fantastic. This week, that matchup is significantly in his favor as the Eagles’ defense is far superior at stopping then run the pass. Combine that with the growth to his offense thanks to Jacob Hollister’s emergence, DK Metcalf’s development, and Josh Gordon’s presence, and Wilson has a clear path to being one of the highest scoring quarterbacks of the week.
Carson Wentz – With the two quarterbacks listed for our potential targets, it’s no surprise that we expect to see the Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks go back-and-forth on Sunday afternoon. Unless one team completely runs away and hides, the other should find success on offense, as well. Philadelphia’s offense was just stifled by the Patriots’ defense, but Seattle ranks 25th in yards-per-game and has allowed at least 20 points in every game except one.
