The Opening Week of any season is always filled with unknowns. For this reason, much of the pricing is questionable. For the most part, there are a few plateaus on which a handful of players sit, and it is not overly difficult to fit a few top options into a lineup.
The other big unknown for Sunday is the weather in Cleveland. It is reportedly so bad that there are talks about postponing the game. Exercise caution when creating your lineups, and good luck!
Based on our expected Week 1 DFS game flow analysis performed earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 1 Plays:
Quarterback
Andy Dalton – The Cincinnati Bengals are in a prime position for a fantasy explosion this week. The reason for the amount of love we are giving them is twofold: the expectations for this team are fairly low after years of disappointing, so they come in somewhat under the radar, and the matchup almost couldn’t be any sweeter against the Colts’ weak defense. Dalton has a healthy arsenal of targets this year that far surpasses what he played with last season, and he should be able to take advantage of that on Sunday. The only fear with Dalton is if the Bengals have a big lead, he may not be overly busy, but the hope is that Andrew Luck can score some points so that the Bengals have to keep their foot on the gas. Either way, Dalton should be able to feast this week.
Russell Wilson – It doesn’t take much to sell us on Russell Wilson, as he has proven himself capable of winning games without the need for gaudy numbers. The problem is that, while this benefits him, it does little for his fantasy owners. That changed, last year, as Wilson became a fantasy stalwart. Of course, it was because his team was lacking elsewhere, but won’t that be the case again on Sunday? Wilson will have to put the Seahawks on his shoulders if they want to win, and there are few better when called upon to rise to the occasion.
