As noted in our game-by-game analysis piece, Week 8 brings the smallest slate of action, yet. Naturally, this leads to a smaller list of targets for our lineups. But, as always, there is valuable to found everywhere.
Based on our expected Week 8 DFS game flow analysis performed earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 8 Plays:
Quarterback
Philip Rivers – The veteran has certainly had some ups and downs this season, but this is the perfect week for him to have a big game. The matchup is as good as it gets as the Patriots defense has allowed at least 300 yards passing in every game except for last week. That is almost definitely due to poor execution on the part of the Falcons and not progress by the Patriots defense. Add in the lose of Dont’a Hightower and the Patriots defense is not getting any tougher. The matchup is ideal, but the game flow works in Rivers’ favor as well. The Patriots is never truly shut down so there is little doubt that the Chargers offense will have to score to stay in this game which should leave Rivers with plenty of opportunity to pick apart this defense. Finally, Rivers has thrown at least 33 passes every week except this past week, when his defense allowed zero points, so his volume is very reliable.
