Based on our expected Wild Card Round DFS game flow analysis published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.

Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Wild Card Round Plays:

Quarterback

Sam Darnold – We always like to point out when a someone’s salary is so low that we have to consider that player simply because of the value brought to the table. Other times, we can see where a player lands relative to other at the position and expect others to move away because of a higher-than-expected salary. The latter is the case for Sam Darnold. Once a fantasy manager compares the quarterback options and where Darnold lands among them, it won’t be difficult to make a case to go in another direction. That’s exactly why we want to stay with him. That, and the last image we have of Darnold was a nationally-televised game where he played poorly. The Minnesota Vikings will have to rely on him at one point if they want to win, and that gives us a chance to take advantage of his expected lower popularity.

Bo Nix – Many weeks ago, we wrote about the surge in hype for Bo Nix, and it has not gone away since. The good news is that his hype has been justified by consistent performances for the latter half of the season. Over the last eight games, Nix has thrown for multiple touchdowns seven times, and he has added a few fantasy points with his legs via at least 20 rushing yards in four consecutive games. He has a tall task this weekend, but it’s unlikely the game stays on the lower-scoring side for too long. Nix will need to throw if the Denver Broncos have any chance at competing, and we’ll gladly target the high volume with a relatively stable floor.
