As always, we like to specify the type of lineup we are building on a given week, but this particular four-game set leaves nothing to the imagination. Each team has elite playmakers somewhere, and the salaries are balanced well enough to allow for almost any combination.

Based on our expected Divisional Round DFS game flow analysis published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.

Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Divisional Round Plays:

Quarterback

Patrick Mahomes – It should never be a surprise to see Patrick Mahomes’ name on a list of potential targets for a given week, but it also helps when his salary is palatable compared to other options. Is there a chance that the Mahomes plays well, the Kansas City Chiefs win, and he isn’t the highest-scoring quarterback on the slate? Definitely. But he also has one of the most stable floors and highest ceilings if he were to step up and deliver a similar performance to what we have seen countless times in the past.

Jared Goff – There is no doubt that the Detroit Lions, as an organization, fully support Jared Goff as their quarterback, and we saw that on full display last week when they completed their home victory against the Rams. Detroit will utilize any approach necessary on offense in order to win games, but the Lions usually make sure that Goff is still throwing frequently enough to be effective. Despite a 12-5 record where Detroit could have settled more on the running game, the team ranked higher in pass attempts — seventh-most in the league — than rushing attempts — ninth-most in the league. Goff will continue to throw in the second round of the playoffs.
