With only six games on the schedule, there is a naturally lower number of targets. By the same accord, pricing is more balanced. As soon as we were able to identify on or two offenses, the rest of the players fell into place.

Based on our expected Wild Card Round DFS game flow analysis published earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.

Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Wild Card Round Plays:

Quarterback

Kirk Cousins – At one point, it is likely that someone — probably us — is knocking Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins for struggling on a big stage. It’s also likely that he is delivering a victory as one of the top-seeded teams in the league. Throughout the year, it has been well-documented that Minnesota is playing at an unsustainable level, but the one are of the team that has been stable is its offense. The Vikings ranks in the top-eight for yards, points, passing yards, and passing touchdowns. Cousins is an easy player to overlook given the strength of the field, but he also had multiple touchdown passes in over half of his starts this year.

Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has taken plenty of criticism over the last month or so because of his turnover rate. It’s valid, but it is unfair to Prescott to cast aside his career numbers and focus only on what he has done lately. Most importantly, for our purposes, even if Prescott tosses an interception on Monday night, he still needs to deliver if the Cowboys want to advance in the postseason. Prior to last week’s dud — in which he still found the end zone once — Prescott had thrown eight touchdowns over a three-game span. Like the aforementioned Cousins, there is enough negativity around Prescott and other viable options where his popularity might be lower than in a typical week. That’s exactly why we want to pounce.
