We have reached the last weekend of the football season – regular or playoffs – in which more than four teams will be playing in the same slate. From here, it only dwindles until we are left with only two. Thankfully, with how much offensive talent is featured in the Divisional Round, we can find targets from every game.
Based on our expected Divisional Round DFS game flow analysis performed earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Divisional Round Plays:
Quarterback
Andrew Luck – Andrew Luck is about as easy of a call as we could get. His final stat line, last week, was far-from spectacular, but it was yet another strong showing especially given the flow of that game. This week figures to be a much different matchup, and one that favors Luck beyond our wildest imagination. Facing off with the Chiefs is always great for quarterbacks because you know they will be busy as the Chiefs’ offense piles on points, and you know they have a matchup they can exploit because the Chiefs’ defense is one of the worst in the league. The Chiefs rank 31st in passing yards allowed per game and 32nd in fantasy point allowed to quarterbacks. Luck figures to be busy and productive in this game as he tries to keep pace with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in a matchup that appears to be high-scoring.
Jared Goff – It’s hard to argue with any of the quarterbacks in this week’s action, but Los Angeles’ Jared Goff gives us access to elite opportunities at a reasonable price. After being completely shut down in the playoffs, last year, the Rams are looking to avoid another postseason in which the offense doesn’t carry over from the regular season. For this to happen, it is imperative that Goff establishes himself as the one spreading the wealth to his bevy of weapons. This makes him valuable on two fronts. Obviously, the production of his pass-catchers will help carry his own fantasy score, but he is also the best way to own a piece of the Rams’ offense without trying to choose between the variety of options.
