Now well into the second quarter of the NFL season, we can continue relying more on matchups with each passing week. Surprisingly, many of the typical ‘top’ plays are actually in less-than-ideal conditions, and carry too many potential concerns to warrant complete trust for a daily fantasy lineup. Instead, the middle-tier of talent is heavily featured in Week 6.
The lack of an expensive ‘go-to player’ does free up the ability to consider more options, but it also forces us to swim in the more dangerous waters. Thankfully, most of the injury concerns that would drive the decision to use or avoid some of our players have been removed in advance of creating our lineups.

Based on our expected Week 6 DFS game flow analysis performed earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 6 Plays:
Quarterback
Blake Bortles – While the Jaguars might not have solved all of their problems, they left London and headed into their bye week following a win against the Colts and a 30-point showing. Quarterback Blake Bortles is surrounded by a bevy of weapons every week, and his inconsistency is the only thing holding him back from a regular recommendation in this list. Thankfully for Bortles, Chicago’s defense is beatable enough to warrant his use. More importantly, Chicago’s offense should be able to score against a horrible Jacksonville defense, thus putting the ball back into Bortles hands with the necessity of throwing.
Aaron Rodgers – With the Packers’ running game likely on hold due to a banged-up Eddie Lacy and James Starks inactive, Aaron Rodgers will be asked to win Sunday’s game with his arm. We can do the same for Rodgers and our fantasy lineups, as the Packers’ quarterback has a decent matchup against a Cowboys’ pass defense ranked in the lower-half of most statistical categories. With so many weapons at his disposal, it might be safer to use Rodgers and not try to cherry-pick his top target.
Russell Wilson – When we last saw Russell Wilson on the field, he was leading his Seahawks to a road victory across the country on an injured leg. With two weeks to prepare – and rest – for his next game, he should be ready to make a statement against a formidable conference opponent. Rest and preparation actually work both ways for Sunday’s matchup, where Seattle’s gain – the bye week – is also Atlanta’s loss, as the Falcons needed to travel to face the Seahawks’ vaunted defense after besting Denver’s on the road the week before. Atlanta’s numbers are slightly inflated by taking advantage of an overmatched Paxton Lynch, and Russell Wilson will thrive against a Falcons pass defense that previously allowed an average of 317 yards-per-game over the first four weeks.
