Throughout the week of preparation for Sunday’s games, the same theme continued to reveal itself. From our picks against the spread to our game flow article and, now, to the final piece of the puzzle – the DFS picks – almost all of the league’s top games to target include a home team seeking revenge for a Week 3 loss – in some cases, even more.
Week 4 has also brought nearly one month of hard hits and painful tackles, leading to an injury report that has direct impact on the players we will be using. As the season goes along, the list of players to watch on Sunday mornings – when the inactives are announced – will only grow. However, it usually won’t be the players detailed below that we need to check, but their teammates, to ensure that the volume we expect is in line with the personnel.

Based on our expected Week 4 DFS game flow analysis performed earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 4 Plays:
Quarterback
Cam Newton – Cam Newton leads the charge for the obvious theme of the week – redemption. The Panthers’ formula for winning involves amassing big leads first, then preventing the opponent from catching up. Carolina differs from most teams in that it rarely slows down its attack. Ever. Not surprisingly, the Panthers finished with the highest point differential in the league in 2015. If a quarterback is going to throw when his team is ahead, he is certainly going to air it out if he is trailing, making Newton immune to the actual game circumstance. It will require paying up for the Panthers’ signal-caller, but his floor and ceiling are so high that he cannot be ignored on Sunday.
Ben Roethlisberger – Like many of the players worth using in a daily fantasy lineup for Week 4, Ben Roethlisberger enters his game in a rebound state. A thorough beating at the hands of the Eagles in Week 3 suggests a considerably more focused attack when Pittsburgh takes the field next. Its own home field on national television. Roethlisberger and the Steelers will be out to make a statement in front of so many eyes and, whether trailing late or going for a lead early, the ball will be in the air. Even the return of Le’Veon Bell does not deter Pittsburgh from throwing, as Bell should actually thrive in the passing game. If playing a Primetime slate, Roethlisberger is a must-start.
