It took almost the entire season, but we finally have a concise, relatively short list of targets for daily fantasy purposes – at least, at the running back and tight end positions. Why? Because we are universally in agreement that prices for a few of the top players have grown so large that value is simply not present. Thus, they can be avoided.
Conversely, there are a few inexpensive options that are in such a potentially good position that we could not pass up using them to offset some higher salaries. Finally, the few ‘must-plays’ were also unanimous, as storylines or matchups were strong enough to warrant unrestrained excitement.
Based on our expected Week 15 DFS game flow analysis performed earlier, we can carry our thoughts into actual lineup positions. The long list of players that fit the requirements set forth by the projected flow of the game was cut dramatically by the requirements set forth by salaries.
Below are Sporfolio’s DFS Week 15 Plays:
Quarterback
Derek Carr – While a divisional matchup against a rival attempting to play the role of ‘spoiler’ is always dangerous, the Oakland Raiders will be returning to action ten days after getting completely shut down by the Chiefs on national television. Oakland’s offense is still ranked sixth in the league in yards and is in perfect position to rebound. And, of course, it runs through MVP candidate Derek Carr. San Diego’s defense has allowed the eighth-most passing yards in the league, and Carr should be in store for another big day.
Dak Prescott – It has been highly publicized that both the Buccaneers’ defense has been playing great and that Dak Prescott’s position as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback is suddenly in jeopardy. As reactionary as the latter is – keep in mind that Prescott has only been beaten by one team, thirteen games into his rookie season – it is the perfect motivating factor for a Cowboys’ squad still poised to cruise toward home field advantage. That is, after they secure at least one more win – and either get help or take care of their own business in the coming weeks. In the national spotlight, at home, Dallas’ entire offense is in position to break out. Quarterback Dak Prescott stands to benefit.
Matt Barkley – Between our picks against the spread and game flow article, it is no surprise that we are all-in on the Bears playing well, this week. That won’t happen without some sort of solid play from quarterback Matt Barkley. Surprisingly – given how underrated he is – we are not scared away from Barkley, and can comfortably recommend him for Sunday at his minimum salary – on DraftKings. The only cause for concern is the weather – which is expected to feature single digit temperatures – which might force Chicago to run more than it would like. Regardless, Barkley is simply too inexpensive to not consider.
