Welcome to the Thursday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. After a small three-game slate last night we have a nice 10-game slate to work with to build our DFS rosters. There are three teams I’m going to look to as the backbone for many of my lineups tonight:
Anaheim Ducks @ Chicago Blackhawks (Chicago, -165, 5.5 over/under)
Philadelphia Flyers @ Toronto Maple Leafs (Toronto, -145, 5.5 over/under)
New York Islanders @ Vancouver Canucks (New York, -145, 5 over/under)
The first team I have interest in tonight is the Chicago Blackhawks. Since the All-Star break Chicago leads the NHL with an average of 4.15 goals for per game. In February Chicago averaged a league best 4.40 goals for per game. Over their past 10 games, per naturalstattrick.com, Chicago has a SCF/60 rate of 29.44 — sixth-highest in the league. Last month Anaheim allowed a middle of the pack 2.73 goals against per game and on the road this season Anaheim has allowed 2.91 goals per game. Over their past 10 games Anaheim has a SCA/60 rate of 29.0 — fifth-most in the NHL. We could see plenty of scoring chances for the Blackhawks tonight.
