Welcome to the Wednesday version of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. Today we have a small three-game slate to work with when constructing our daily fantasy hockey rosters. Of this six teams in action I want to focus my attention on two teams as the backbone of my DFS lineups:

Detroit Red Wings @ Boston Bruins (Boston, -260, 5.5 over/under)
Pittsburgh Penguins @ Winnipeg Jets (Pittsburgh, -135, 6.5 over/under)

The first team I want shares of tonight are the Boston Bruins. They are at home and get a Red Wings team on the second night of a back-to-back. Since the All-Star break Detroit has allowed an NHL ninth-worst 3.00 goals per game (this is in a tier with Colorado and Arizona — teams we love to attack). On the road this season Detroit has allowed a league fifth-worst 3.22 goals against per game and over their past 25 games Detroit has SCA/60 rate of 28.14 — 10th-highest in the NHL. On the road Detroit has an xGA/60 of 2.84 — third-highest in the league.

Last month Boston averaged 4.10 goals for per game — second only to the Chicago Blackhawks. Under new coach Bruce Cassidy we can expect the Bruins to score more goals and likely allow more goals. Under Cassidy, Boston is 8-3-0 and have scored 39 goals over that time. Last month Boston’s power play clicked a league second-best 32.3 percent and since the All-Star break Boston has scored a league second-best 3.62 goals for per game. Boston did look very sloppy on the road against Ottawa on Monday but I’ll look for them to get back on track against what should be a tired Detroit team.

Line 2: Peter Cehlarik $3.2K / David Krejci $5.4K / David Pastrnak $6.9K

Power Play Stack: Brad Marchand $7.9K / Patrice Bergeron $7.3K / David Pastrnak $6.9K  / Frank Vatrano $4K / Torey Krug $5.6K

great option on the blue in cash games would be
