We start the daily fantasy hockey week off with a small four-game slate to work with for our DFS rosters. There are three teams I particulary interested in when looking to create the backbone for many of my lineups tonight:
Dallas Stars @ Washington Capitals (Washington, -250, 6 over/under)
San Jose Sharks @ Winnipeg Jets (even, 5.5 over/under)
The first team I want plenty of shares of are the Washington Capitals. Tonight they get a Dallas team that allowed a league second-worst 3.58 goals against per game in February and on the season have allowed a league third-worst 3.20 goals against per game. On the road things get even worse for Dallas where they have allowed 3.63 goals against per game — second-worst in the NHL. Only Arizona is a worse road team and when we start throwing the Arizona name around we know we have a team we can attack.
Over their last 10 games Dallas has a SCA/60 rate of 36.06 — easily the worst in the league. Their HDCA/60 rate of 12.68 is fourth-worst in the NHL over the past 10 games. Dallas is also more than capable of allowing a tournament-winning crooked number. For our visual learners out there here are their goals against over their past nine games:
Dallas’ team save percentage on the road of .879 is dead last in the league. And they have to take all this baggage to a Washington team that scored a league third-best 3.75 goals per game in February.
I think we also have a great opportunity to
