Welcome to the Thursday edition of the daily fantasy hockey moring coffee. After yesterday’s small three game slate we’re back with a nice 12-game slate to work with for our daily fantasy hockey needs. From those 12 games there are three games I want to make sure I have exposure to when constructing my lineups:

Dallas Stars @ Chicago Blackhawks (Chicago, -225, 6 over/under)
Vancouver Canucks @ St. Louis Blues (St. Louis, -240, 5.5 over/under)
Edmonton Oilers @ Colorado Avalanche (Edmonton, -170, 5.5 over/under

Even though the Blackhawks completely burned me the other night I’m going to dip back into the Chicago well against the Dallas Stars tonight. The Vancouver Canucks broke Chicago’s win streak on Tuesday night but I’ll think Chicago will start another streak tonight against a Dallas team that has allowed a league-worst 3.48 goals against per game since the All-Star break. In March, covering just nine games, Dallas has allowed 30 goals. Overall, Dallas has the second-worst xGA/60 in the NHL at 2.74. Over their past 10 games Dallas has SCA/60 rate of 31.63 — second-worst in the league. Over their past 10 games Dallas has a HDCA/60 rate of 11.29 — ninth-worst in the league. If we then add that Dallas has a league third-worst team save percentage of .892 percent we can reasonably assume Chicago is in for a big night at home.

On the Chicago side we have a team that has scored a league best 3.71 goals per game since the All-Star break. Even in their loss to Vancouver on Tuesday night they put up four goals. In March, spanning 11 games, Chicago has tallied 34 goals. On the season, at home, Chicago has averaged a league 10th-best 3.13 goals for per game. At home, over their past 10 games, Chicago has a SCF/60 rate of 33.89 — fourth-most at home in the league. Over their past 10 road games Dallas has a league-worst SCA/60 rate of 34.98. Chicago should see plenty of scoring chances tonight.
