Welcome to the Wednesday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. After a nice 11-game slate last night we’re back to a small three-game slate to pick through for our daily fantasy needs.

Toronto Maple Leafs @ Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, -155, 5.5 over/under)
New York Islanders @ New York Rangers (New York Rangers, -125, 5.5 over/under)
Edmonton Oilers @ Anaheim Ducks (Anaheim, -120, 5 over/under)

Of the three games listed above the game I have the most interest in is the New York Islanders at the New York Rangers. Since the All-Star break the Islanders have allowed a league third-worst 3.43 goals against per game and have a team save percentage of just .887 percent over their past 23 games played. Over their past 10 games the Islanders have a SCA/60 rate of 30.85  —  sixth-highest in the league. The Islanders HDCA/60 rate of 12.29 over their past 10 games is the fourth-worst in the NHL. This month the Islanders have had a terrible time keeping the puck out of the net with a league-worst 35 goals against over just 10 games played and they have lost four out their past five games.

The Rangers have scored a middle of the pack 2.67 goals for this month and since the All-Star break have scored 2.68 goals per game. On the season the Rangers have averaged 3.14 goals for per home game and I’ll look for the Rangers to break out against an Islanders team that has, on the season, allowed 3.09 goals against per game on the road. On the season the Islanders are tied with the Dallas Stars with the second-worst xGA/60 of 2.74 — on the road that numbers jumps slightly to 2.79.
