Welcome to the Friday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. We’re now down to our last full month of regular season action and every game for team’s within striking distance of a wild card spot, or any team with a chance to move up in the standings will be grinding for every point they can get. Wednesday night gave us the shocking loss of the Tampa Rays at the hands the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal hurt the playoff hopes of the New York Islanders.

Tonight we have a nine-game slate to work with for our daily fantasy needs.

Tonight’s Slate:

Montreal Canadiens @ New York Islanders (New York, -140, 6 over/under)
New Jersey Devils @ Carolina Hurricanes (Carolina, -125, 6 over/under)
Buffalo Sabres @ Florida Panthers (Florida, -220, 6 over/under)
Detroit Red Wings @ Winnipeg Jets (Winnipeg, -210, 5.5 over/under)
Minnesota Wild @ Colorado Avalanche (Minnesota, -115, 5.5 over/under)
New York Rangers @ Calgary Flames (Calgary, -200, 6 over/under)
Ottawa Senators @ Vegas Golden Knights (Vegas, -270, 6 over/under)
Nashville Predators @ Vancouver Canucks (Nashville, -175, 6 over/under)
Columbus Blue Jackets @ Anaheim Ducks (Anaheim, -155, 5.5 over/under)

Nashville will be a chalky play tonight but they’re tough to completely ignore — and since we other games with larger favorites (Vegas, Winnipeg, Calgary) it’s possible we some ownership go to those teams. Since the All-Star break Nashville has scored a league third-best 3.73 goals for per game and have won five consecutive games. Over their past 10 games Nashville has a SCF/60 of 31.06 — 10th-best in the NHL — and their HDCF/60 of 12.59 is good for ninth-best in the NHL over the past 10 games. Nashville has also been a very strong puck possession team over the past 10 games with a CF% of 54.66 percent.

Since the All-Star break Vancouver has allowed a league sixth-worst 3.40 goals against per game and have post All-Star break penalty kill percentage of just 75.0 percent (and Nashville has six power play goals over their past six games). Over their past 10 games Vancouver has a league-worst SCA/60 of 35.74 and a league eighth-worst HDCA/60 of 12.5 over their past 10 games.
