Welcome to the Monday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. The finish line of the 2016-17 NHL regular season is really in view as most teams have about 10 games left to play on the season. It’s been a fun ride and we’ll do our best to make the remaining weeks as profitable as possible. We have our usual relatively small slate to work with this Monday morning with just five games scheduled tonight. There are three teams that stand out to me that should make for a nice basis for our roster construction.
Boston Bruins @ Toronto Maple Leafs (Boston, -145, 6 over/under)
Arizona Coyotes @ Nashville Predators (Nashville, -270, 5.5 over/under)
San Jose Sharks @ Dallas Stars (San Jose, -145, 5.5 over/under)
While I bold the Boston Bruins above as the team I want to target, both sides of this game are certainly in play. But I’ll start with the Bruins. Since the All-Star break (18 games played) Boston leads the NHL in goals for per game with 3.89 and have the second-best goal differential in the NHL over that time at plus 1.11 goals. Over their past 10 games Boston has a SCF/60 of 28.44 — sixth-highest in the NHL. Boston’s HDCF/60 over their past 10 games of 11.3 is good for ninth-best in the NHL and Boston’s xGF/60 in 5v5 situations on the road is a league fourth-highest 2.72.
On the other side we have
