Welcome to Monday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. For once we don’t have a small two or three game slate and get a Monday with eight games to work with for our daily fantasy hockey needs. There are great one-off choices tonight (obviously players like Crosby, Malkin, Vladimir Tarasenko, Nikita Kucherov, etc. are in play — deploy them as you see fit), but the two games I have the most interest in from a stacking stand point are:
Boston Bruins @ Vancouver Canucks (Boston, -185, 5 over/under)
Winnipeg Jets @ Nashville Predators (Nashville, -160, 6 over/under)
Let’s start with Boston at Vancouver.
Since the All-Star break Vancouver has allowed a league eighth-worst 3.06 goals against per game. In February that number was 3.25 goals against per game. Vancouver also has had one of the worst penalty kills with in the NHL with a penalty kill rate of just 75 percent (13 power play goals against). Over their past 10 games Vancouver has a SCA/60 rate of 32.24 — second highest in the NHL. And their HDCA/60 rate of 11.90 over their past 10 games is the fifth-highest in the league. Vancouver has been consistent in the amount of scoring chances they allow — if we look back over their last 25 games (home and away) their SCA/60 rate of 29.85 is the third-highest in the NHL and their HDCA/60 rate of 11.51 is sixth-worst in the NHL.
Vancouver only has two wins in their last nine games and have been pretty consistent with allowing at least three goals in each game. Assuming he gets the start, I’ll plug Rask into my cash game lineups in the likelihood Boston pulls out a win.
Now let’s compare
