Welcome to the Friday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. I hope you have had a profitable week. Tonight we have a tidy five-game slate to work with to construct our DFS rosters. From those five games, there are three teams I want to target as the basis of my roster construction tonight:
Chicago Blackhawks @ Detroit Red Wings (Chicago, -150, 5.5 over/under)
Pittsburgh Penguins @ Edmonton Oilers (Pittsburgh, -120, 6 over/under)
Buffalo Sabres @ Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, -240, 5.5 over/under)
Tonight the Chicago Blackhawks get the Detroit Red Wings. Since the All-Star break Detroit has allowed a league sixth-worst 3.20 goals against per game — to put that into even more perspective, that’s worse than even Colorado and Vancouver. Per naturalstattrick.com, over their past 10 games Detroit has a SCA/60 of 29.59 — fourth-highest in the NHL. On the side we have a Chicago team that has a SCF/60 rate of 29.44 – sixth-highest in the league. Since the All-Star break Chicago leads the NHL with 4.15 goals for per game and last month led the NHL with 4.40 goals for per game. On the season Chicago has been a solid road team with an average of 2.90 goals per game. Detroit looked awful against Boston on Wednesday night en route to a 6-1 loss and I’ll for Chicago to continue to pour it on against Detroit tonight.
Chicago Stacks:
Line 1: Nick Schmaltz $4K / Jonathan Toews $7.4K / Richard Panik $4.7K
