First of all, thank you to Mario Mergola for filling in for me while I was down with the flu. While the daily fantasy world went on and it suddenly became Spring in the Northeast, I was having bizarre fever-induced dreams for three days that my body was made up of one giant ball of yarn being pulled apart by a faceless man. I have no idea what that means, so I’m happy to jump back into DFS. Mondays bring us small slates and today is no different with just three games on the docket.
Montreal Canadiens @ New Jersey Devils (Montreal, -120, 5 over/under)
Ottawa Senators @ Tampa Bay Lightning (Tampa Bay, -170, 5 over/under)
Los Angeles Kings @ Minnesota Wild (Minnesota, -135, 5 over/under)
The two teams I have interest in stacking tonight are the Wild and Lightning. Keep your eye on trades every day until the trade deadline passes as it may have big consequences on how lineups are ultimately constructed. For example, the Wild acquired Martin Hanzal from the Coyotes, and while he’s not available to play tonight on DK or FD, he becomes an interesting target down the road.
Tonight the Wild are at home against the Kings. This month the Wild have scored an NHL sixth-best 3.20 goals per game and have a power play that has clicked at am impressive rate of 30.8 percent. On the season Minnesota leads the NHL with a home power play percentage of 30.6 percent. They are also the fourth-best team, in terms of goals for per game, at home this year with a rate of 3.37 goals per game.
We do have to keep in mind that
