Welcome to Wednesday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. We have another fairly small slate to work with tonight with only six games on the schedule. There are three teams I’m going lean on heavily as part of my roster construction tonight:
Colorado Avalanche @ Calgary Flames (Calgary, -210, 5.5 over/under)
Detroit Red Wings @ Anaheim Ducks (Anaheim, -180, 5.5 over/under)
Arizona Coyotes @ Vancouver Canucks (Vancouver, -160, 5.5 over/under)
Last month the Calgary Flames averaged 3.38 goals per game. Last month Colorado allowed 3.93 goals per game. Those two numbers alone make it easy for me to go all in on Calgary tonight. At even strength with the score tied Colorado has a xGA/60 of 2.69 — fifth-highest in the NHL.
Let’s just take a quick look at the number of goals Colorado has allowed since Dec. 22:
Dec 22: 6
Dec 23: 1
Dec 27 (against Calgary): 6
Dec. 29: 4
Dec. 31: 6
Jan.2: 3
