The team I will start much of my roster construction with tonight is the New York Rangers. Tonight the Rangers get an Ottawa team that has lost four straight games and only has one win in their past 12 games. Over their current four-game losing streak Ottawa has allowed 17 goals with five coming on the power play. On the season Ottawa has allowed an NHL fourth-worst 3.36 goals against per game and a third-worst home goals against per game at 3.36 goals. On home ice Ottawa has the sixth-worst penalty kill in the NHL with a kill rate of just 76.2 percent.
Over their last 10 games played Ottawa has a league-worst SCA/60 of 33.59 and a league-worst HDCA/60 of 13.52. On the other side we have a Rangers team with a league ninth-best SCF/60 at 30.11 and a league sixth-best HDCF/60 of 12.27 over their past 10 games played. Not only should we see plenty of scoring chances for New York tonight we could see plenty of high danger chances as well.
We also get Ottawa on the second night of a back-to-back tonight (they lost to the Sabres last night). On the second night of back-to-backs this season Ottawa has allowed an average of 2.83 goals per game
