Welcome to the Friday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. We end the week with a tidy five-game slate to dig through for our daily fantasy needs.

Tonight’s Slate:

New York Rangers @ Washington Capitals (Washington, -130, 5.5 over/under)
Columbus Blue Jackets @ New Jersey Devils (Columbus, -125, 5.5 over/under)
Vegas Golden Knights @ Nashville Predators (Nashville, -180, 6 over/under)
Buffalo Sabres @ Chicago Blackhawks (Chicago, -185, 5.5 over/under)
Minnesota Wild @ Anaheim Ducks (Minnesota, -115, 5.5 over/under)

The team I’ll go the heaviest with tonight is the Chicago Blackhawks. Tonight the Blackhawks get a Buffalo team that allowed an NHL seventh-worst 3.15 goals against per game in November and has allowed an average of 3.67 goals against per game through three games this month. In an interesting twist Buffalo has the second-best SCA/60 of 23.43 over their last 10 games but have the 10th-worst team save percentage at 91.23 percent. Chicago, on the other hand, has the ninth-highest SCF/60 in the NHL over their past 10 games at 29.79 and have their HDCF/60 of 11.81 is good for seventh-best in league over the past 10 games.

On the season Buffalo has allowed a league third-worst 3.39 goals against per game while the Blackhawks have scored an average of 3.54 goals per game at home on the season. Chicago has lost five straight games since they exploded for seven goals against Anaheim on Nov. 27, but I think tonight is the night they turn things around against a Buffalo team that has lost four of their last five games which included a three-game span where they failed to register a single goal. At the very least you can lock in whoever gets the start in net for Chicago tonight as we go shutout hunting against Buffalo.

On the season, in 5v5 situations, Chicago has an xGF/60 of 2.6 — eighth-highest in the NHL — and on home ice that number jumps to 2.73.
