Tonight we have a small three-game slate to work with for our daily fantasy hockey needs.
Vancouver Canucks @ Montreal Canadiens
Detroit Red Wings @ Philadelphia Flyers
Pittsburgh Penguins @ Anaheim Ducks
The first game we should look at on this small slate is the Vancouver Canucks at the Montreal Canadiens. Montreal’s offense and defense have been clicking over their current seven game winning streak. They have scored 3.44 goals per game this season — good for fourth-best in the league — and Montreal has scored 17 goals at home in five games.
Vancouver has allowed 23 goals against in nine games (2.56 goals against per game) — but in just two road games they have allowed seven goals.
Montreal has allowed a league best 1.44 goals against this season and are a huge favorite at -215. Currently we are looking at a 5 over/under but it’s a situation where four of those goals could easily come from the Montreal end.
That being said, we’ll be looking to Montreal for offense in this one.
Alexander Radulov $5.4K (2G, 5A, 3 PPP, 14 SOG)
Alex Galchenyuk $6K (3G, 5A, 3 PPP, 14 SOG)
Brendan Gallagher $6.1K (4G, 3A, 1 PPP, 31 SOG)
Max Pacioretty $6.8K (2G, 5A, 1 PPP, 27 SOG)
(D) Shea Weber $6.4K (4G, 6A, 4 PPP, 23 SOG)
(D)Jeff Petry $4.1K (2G, 4A, 3 PPP, 11 SOG)
are the players from Montreal I’ll be looking to for my DFS needs tonight.
Montreal will most likely be a very popular play so there is merit to embrace the risk of using the Vancouver side of this game in GPPs.
