Welcome to the Friday edition of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. I hope you have had a profitable week. We end the week with six games but just five games starting at 7 p.m. (The L.A. vs. Colorado game is a 6 p.m. start).

Tonight’s slate (top team stacks in bold):

Winnipeg Jets @ Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, -200, 6.5 over/under)
Ottawa Senators @ New Jersey Devils  (New Jersey, -119, 5.5 over/under)
Nashville Predators @ Chicago Blackhawks (Chicago, -130, 5.5 over/under)
Dallas Stars @ Calgary Flames (Calgary, -138, 6 over/under)

The team I have the most interest in tonight for both cash and tournaments is the Columbus Blue Jackets. Tonight Columbus gets a Winnipeg team that has allowed league sixth-worst 3.71 goals against per game — and Winnipeg is on the second night of a back-to-back. Columbus has averaged an NHL ninth-best 3.33 goals for per game early in the season and Winnipeg sports the second-worst penalty kill percentage in the league at 72.0 percent. While Columbus doesn’t have great power play numbers they have scored two power play goals over their last five chances — perhaps this power play unit is starting to heat up.

When skating together the CAM ATKINSON/ARTEMI PANARIN/ALEXANDER WENNBERG line had been the sixth-most productive line in the league with six goals for and 125 shot attempts for. But we’re not seeing Panarin with Wennberg as we’ll likely see a Panarin / Foligno / Atkinson line combo and a Jenner / Dubinsky / Anderson second line combo. I would stack either one of these lines in tournaments (the Panarin line has the potential to be chalky … but I like that we have Patrick Kane, Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn all in action tonight which should help offset some Columbus ownership).

The second team I want shares of tonight are the Chicago Blackhawks — but both teams (Nashville) are on the table for me and I’ll explain below. As this is a morning coffee musing of the slate my thoughts tend to be fluid … but especially for this game. On the season Chicago has scored a league seventh-best 3.40 goals for per game and while Nashville has been very good on the penalty kill, they have taken a lot of penalties early this season with 42 times shorthanded. Nashville has lost two games in a row — to the New York Rangers and Calgary Flames — and I think a losing streak starts tonight on the road in Chicago. I am a little worried that the first time these two teams met (on Oct. 14) it took a shootout to break a 1-1 score — which Chicago won. This is a high-upside tournament pick really as the season-long numbers are skewed by Chicago’s 15 goals in their first two games.

As I’ve been researching and writing this I have talked myself into liking Nashville a lot tonight. The Blackhawks have a CA/60 of 66.40  — second worst in the NHL. Their SCA/60 of 33.13 is third worst in the league and their HDCA/60 of 13.25 is dead last in the NHL. The one thing that gives me pause is that though their advanced stats look terrible, the results in terms of goals against on the season have not matched up as they have only allowed 2.60 goals against per game. Chicago has allowed two goals or less in six of their 10 games this season — but have allowed four goals or more in four games this season. The early-season Blackhawks either shut you down or open up the flood gates. Consider some Nashville stacks in your tournaments tonight:
Line One
FILIP FORSBERG $8.4K
RYAN JOHANSEN $6.4K
VIKTOR ARVIDSSON $6.4K
Line Two
SCOTT HARTNELL $3.5K
CALLE JARNKROK $3.7K
PONTUS ABERG $3.2K
Power Play Stack
SCOTT HARTNELL
RYAN JOHANSEN
FILIP FORSBERG
(D) ROMAN JOSI $6.3K
(D) P.K. SUBBAN $6.2K
Notes:

-The Calgary Flames are listed as one one of my top stacks are are home tonight against a Dallas team on the second night of a back-to-back. The game has a healthy six over/under with Calgary second only to Columbus in implied goal total for the night. Calgary’s fist line of Ferland/Gaudreau/Monahan is in play in both cash games and tournaments. I really like Backlund/Frolik/Tkachuk as a second line tournament stack tonight.

-Fanduel caps the amount of players you can stack from any particular team. When choosing your PP stacks try to deploy players who skate together at even strength and the PP. I list all five players so you can see what your choices are. -Stats in this article are courtesy of ESPN, NaturalStatTrick, LeftWingLock, and Hockey Reference and are up to date as of the night of Oct. 26.

-As always, please double check all line combos, injuries, and starting goalies prior to puck drop.
