Welcome to another week of the daily fantasy hockey morning coffee. There are only two games on the docket tonight after only one game last night. Still, we’ll dig through to see what moves we can make in cash games and tournaments to try to assemble some winning DFS lineups.

Tonight’s games:

San Jose Sharks @ New York Rangers (New York, -120, 5.5 over/under)
Los Angeles Kings @ Toronto Maple Leafs (Toronto, -145, 6 over/under)

In cash games the team we want to stack is clear: the Toronto Maple Leafs. Not only to do we get them them as favorites with the ol’ six over/under attached to that game they are back on home ice after spending the last three out of four on the road. Los Angeles is currently riding a four game win streak with five power play goals scored over that time frame — I wouldn’t hesistate at all to deploy L.A. skaters in stacks in tournaments tonight in what I think will be a Toronto-heavy owned tournament night. But for cash, it’s difficult to ignore the best offensive player tonight in Auston Matthews. Still, I have L.A. is my 1A tonight — at least consider a Anze Kopitar / Dustin Brown / Drew Doughty / Alex Iafallo stack. Iafallo at $3.2K gives you great value. He’s coming off a game where he scored 20.8 FanDuel points and offers salary relief to fit in some of our higher-priced players.

Toronto currently leads the league with 5.25 goals for per game and have scored 10 power play goals over their first eight games played. Seven of those power play goals have come during their four home games.

For cash games you can use Matthews/Nylander as the cornerstone for your rotster construction. In tournaments I’d like to dip down to the Leafs secondary scoring in what I think could be a high scoring affair.
